Currently there is no requirement to receive third party data as we are not involved in sales or promotions. In time we may receive data from third party ticketing organisations. We use this data for the sole purpose of the event in question.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How we protect your data
Your data is accessed only by authorised members of West Midlands Barbershop Harmony club. It is subject to the protection procedures provided by Wordfence – an internet security conscious firm specialising in website and database security and secure site access. Find out more at: https://www.wordfence.com/learn/how-to-harden-wordpress-sites/
What data breach procedures we have in place
The site is created using a Content Management System (CMS) called WordPress. This CMS is the most popular worldwide and as a result has had more than its fair share of data breaches. As a result the WordPress CMS was given a major security development in 2018. Because of its popularity it is still the most attacked by hackers but the security breaches have been minimised due to these security improvements. To ensure the maximum security of the site, security updates are effected as soon as is practicably possible after release.
Other methods to ensure the stability of security include using a HTTPS certificate issued by the website host (Netnerd.com). This certificate ensures that all traffic between this site and the host is fully encrypted, making the site more secure from hackers.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
User data is made visible only to the club membership with a few exceptions: e.g. Secretary, Chairman, and other club officials who have given permission for some user data to be made public: e.g. email and telephone number for public interface purposes only. No user data, either public or private, is given to any third party without the authority of the person to whom the data belongs.
